| The book comprises six parts, including supporting those overarching topics. The first part introduces the foundations of nursing research and evidence-based practice. Part 2 aids in both conceptualizing and planning a study to generate evidence. Part 3 addresses the design and conduct of quantitative studies, while the fourth part addresses qualitative studies. Part 5 of the book introduces mixed-method studies. Part 6 addresses building and evidence-base for nursing practice. The text is very attractive, with multiple-colored figures and tables. Appendices include statistical tables of theoretical probability distributions, and a comprehensive glossary helps the reader to define essential terms. Glossaries of selected statistical symbols help with statistical formulas, and it provides quick guides to bivariate statistical tests as well. Taken as a whole, the book is authoritative and comprehensive. |

| While there are many textbooks available on the topic of nursing research, this is one of the most well-known. Building on 11 previous editions, the book remains an essential contribution to the field and to those who would generate or implement nursing research. |
