| The authors' purpose is to present high-yield topics in a quick and easy-to-read format. This is a great resource to brush up on a topic that you saw on a shift or use even during a shift if you have a question. The authors do a great job meeting their objective in this regard, but the book lacks illustrations. |

| The audience is emergency medicine providers of all levels. Whether you are looking to learn about a subject or need a refresher, this book is helpful. There are over 100 contributors who are emergency medicine physicians who have seen and treated these conditions over and over again. |

Features
|
| The book covers hundreds of common emergency medicine diagnoses. It does so in a consistent manner that is easy to follow, breaking down each condition by history and physical examination, diagnosis, treatments, disposition, and statistics on the disease. The pearls and pitfalls section for each diagnosis is particularly helpful. The one thing this book is lacking is illustrations, which would add value but countless pages to the book. Unfortunately, the digital version does not have more illustrations. |

| This is a useful tool for emergency medicine practitioners. It is easy to find and answer questions about hundreds of bread-and-butter topics in emergency medicine. It is ideal for providing a refresher on topics you have seen on shift with links to references for more in-depth discussions. It is not as in depth as other well-known titles, and has no illustrations, but it provides a great summary of the topics in a quick, easy-to-read manner. |
