| The book comprises 10 sections. The first nine sections correspond to the various anatomic regions of the head and neck, while the tenth and final section deals with multiple endocrine neoplasia (MEN) syndromes. Each section contains chapters summarizing the embryology, anatomy, and histology of the region, followed by non-neoplastic and neoplastic lesions that occur in each location. Some sections also include chapters on intraoperative consultations. References associated with each chapter are available online only. The format of the atlas is similar to that of previous editions, with information provided in accessible and easy-to-read bulleted format. Clinical, gross and microscopic images generously illustrate the text. The atlas also contains numerous tables, including ones that compare various entities. This edition is expanded and updated to include newly identified entities and various subtypes of previously well-established tumors. In addition, the book includes the most updated molecular diagnostic information as applicable in identification of new diseases and neoplasms, in the understanding of their etiology and pathogenesis, and in advances in treatment and prognosis. This edition features a total of 4098 images, including 1008 new images. |

| This atlas remains one of the most important books in head and neck pathology and the surgical pathology world in general. It is an excellent resource for pathology trainees and practicing pathologists. It can be used as a quick reference during sign-out, as well as a helpful tool in the frozen section room. The text is very well written and easy to read and the accompanying images are of excellent quality. This edition is extensively updated with the most up-to-date classifications and molecular information. In summary, this atlas is a must-have in the personal library of every surgical pathologist. |
