The previous edition was published in 2006. Purpose The author intends this to be a "quick reference guide in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic problems in the patient with cancer." Audience The book is written primarily for advanced practice nurses or nurse practitioners. It is also a good reference for any oncology clinician who would like a quick reference for any issue that may relate to systems affected by cancer and cancer treatment. Features Organized by body system, this book uses an outline format to address issues that may arise in patients with cancer and lists state-of-the-art interventions. The charts are clearly presented and the information is up to date. This book is easy to read and the index is thorough. Assessment I have used this book in my practice and find it very helpful with finding explanations and indications for practice. Because of the changes in oncology care, this edition is welcome with its current information.
