It is not designed for practitioners. Features Information on microorganisms and the diseases they cause is presented. Prevention and treatment of infectious disease are also covered. Further, the author addresses numerous "momisms" such as "why do children need more sleep when they're sick?" Assessment The scientific information presented is clear, concise, and appropriately written for the lay public. Scientific studies are referenced and explained clearly. In those circumstances where the author is near the fringe of conventional medical wisdom, he explains his thinking in an understandable fashion.
