Description
This is the sixth edition of an excellent resource in pediatric ophthalmology. It is an update from the 2005 edition.
Purpose
The purpose is to provide a benchmark in the field of pediatric ophthalmology. Indeed, the book meets that goal by reflecting the most relevant and up-to-date clinical material.
Audience
It is written for residents, fellows, and established practitioners.
Features
The book covers a wide variety of pediatric ophthalmology topics -- retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), genetics, strabismus, and amblyopia -- as well as pediatric diseases in each discipline of ophthalmology. The book is well written and beautifully illustrated.
Assessment
With advances in pediatric ophthalmology, an updated edition is indeed needed. Harley's has always been a staple in pediatric ophthalmology education and will continue to be.
