Quality health care is necessary for people in society to thrive. Quality health care cannot exist without nurses. Therefore, nurses need to transform the healthcare settings where they work, creating environments that support the rendering of quality care. These are worthy objectives. With the increasing number of nurses leaving the profession and dissatisfaction, corrective action needs to be taken. |

This book's primary audience is nurses, however the material is presented in such a way that it can be applied to any level in nursing, from students, to advanced practice, to academia. The book meets the needs of the audience. The book would benefit from more coverage for the academic audience. The author is a credible expert. Assessment
The topics included in this book are of great interest to me. I have been reviewing literature related to compassion and civility for the past two years and find this book to be and added resource of great benefit. The topics present are important for us to discuss and learn about so that we may heal ourselves so we may heal others. The addition of the impact of COVID on the profession and real-life examples make this a needed edition. |
