This book describes the process of developing a research program in nursing, using a step-by-step approach that covers selection of the topic to publication of the results.
The purpose is to describe the development of a program of research in nursing, a worthy goal that no book has yet addressed. The author does an excellent job of meeting this objective.
The intended audience is PhD students and junior nursing faculty. With a successful program of research that spans more than 25 years, the author is a credible authority.
The book begins with a chapter on the importance of developing a program of research. Subsequent chapters describe the process of developing and sustaining such a program. The author uses examples from her own program of research and several other nurse researchers to illustrate important points. Tables and figures throughout the book complement the text.
As the first book that describes the development of a program of research in nursing, this should be in the library of every nursing PhD student and junior faculty member.
