Purpose With the continuous flow of new research in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, this is a worthy goal. The book serves as a good initial reference on common topics in obstetrics and gynecology, but it cannot be used beyond that scope. Audience It is directed toward practicing clinicians in obstetrics/gynecology, family medicine, and pediatrics. Many of the contributing authors are experts in their fields. Features Topics are arranged in such a way that they can be found based on patient symptoms or by diagnosis. The information is presented clearly and concisely, which makes this book a good initial reference, but it does not contain some of the more important details practicing physicians would be expected to know. Assessment This book is well intended, but it falls short of its goal due to the continuing influx of new research and the lack of more detailed information on topics practicing physicians should know. With its logical organization and general information on each topic, it would, however, serve as a good reference for medical students.
