Description
This comprehensive textbook of rheumatology describes all aspects of rheumatological disease processes, from pathology to clinic aspects and management. Good quality images make the subject easy to understand. The previous edition was published in 2004. |
Purpose
As a complete rheumatology textbook, it encompasses all aspects of rheumatic diseases from pathogenesis, to imaging, differential diagnosis, and management. The excellent chapter on biological medications provides clinicians with the latest information in this area. |
Audience
The audience includes rheumatology fellows in training and practicing rheumatologists. |
Features
This excellent resource summarizes all adult and pediatric rheumatic diseases. The best feature is the clinical case scenario that begins each disease discussion, which makes the book interactive and interesting. The good number of illustrations and separate chapters on imaging modalities are particularly useful. |
Assessment
This is a must have for any rheumatologist, as it is comprehensive and up to date with the latest developments in the field. This edition is certainly justified in light of the many advances in the field, particularly in therapeutics, that have occurred in the intervening decade. |
