The technical as well as ethical aspects are covered. However, it does not include any discussion of live donor lung transplantation. Purpose The purpose is to provide a reference and review of the growing developments in live donor transplantation. Audience The audience is mainly abdominal organ transplant surgeons and physicians. It will be a useful reference for residents and fellows in transplantation, but is likely too detailed to be useful to medical students. Features The ethical, technical performance, and management aspects of abdominal organ live donors and recipients are discussed. Complications specific to live organ donation are discussed and the treatment is thorough. The dedicated chapters related to live donor ethics are unique. However, the absence of any discussion of live donor lung transplantation is a shortcoming. Assessment In my field, this book is a very useful reference and rates as one of the top 3 to 4 books that I would use regularly.
