Description
This fifth edition dermatology atlas continues the tradition of excellence set by the late Dr. Thomas Fitzpatrick. This new edition has even more clinical color photographs and includes up-to-date eruptions from biologic therapies. As always, the clinical discussions on presentation, epidemiology, treatment, and pathogenesis are superb.
Purpose
The purpose is to educate all physicians on common clinical dermatologic problems. Rare syndromes are not the focus of the book. If a nondermatologist is going to read only one book on dermatology, this is it!
Audience
The audience is all physicians and medical students. Everyone can learn something from reading it.
Features
The clinical synopses on the various skin diseases and the photographs are outstanding. The diseases are rated as to seriousness and commonness, a new feature since the last edition. The book is well organized and easy to use as a quick reference/refresher. Each section can be read in under a minute.
Assessment
This is really one of the best, if not the best, clinical dermatology handbooks available. Budding dermatologists must own and digest this book.
