Description
This is the seventh edition of this very popular and coveted review manual for neuro-ophthalmology. The previous edition was published in 2008. |
Purpose
It is intended as a concise and through review of common and important disorders in neuro-ophthalmology. It does a wonderful job of presenting important topics in an easy-to-understand narrative. The images and diagrams help readers grasp the material. |
Audience
This review is appropriate for medical students, residents, fellows, and practitioners looking to recertify. It will be of use for physicians in both neurology and ophthalmology. Because it is so well written, it is accessible to physicians at any level of their training and education. |
Features
The book covers the common and important disorders and topics in neuro-ophthalmology including the visual field, cranial nerve syndromes, the pupil, headaches, myopathies, neuroimaging, and the phakomatoses. Visual field examination and evaluation is covered in an unintimidating way that makes it easy to understand. The only shortcoming is that it does not cover all neuro-ophthalmology pathology in detail, although this is not the stated intention of the book. |
Assessment
This is the finest neuro-ophthalmology review that I have encountered. It is an outstanding book to have in your library. |
