As the preface notes, this format allows readers to formulate their own hypothesis and differential diagnosis and compare their thoughts to that of an expert discussant unfamiliar with the case. The cases are truly challenging and extraordinarily interesting, resulting in a book that demands thought. Assessment This book and this format are exceptional. It pushes readers in a way they have not usually experienced since their training days. It is challenging and refreshing at the same time.
