Description
This is a pocket guide for enteral nutrition using best practice recommendations based on ASPEN (American Society for Parenteral Enteral Nutrition) guidelines and other resources using current research. It presents a multidisciplinary, step-by-step approach to evaluate nutrition needs, formula choice, and delivery mechanisms, as well as to troubleshoot complications in adults and pediatric/infants. Each chapter uses tables for quick reference points. There is an ebook version, but it was not available for review. This second edition incorporates the significant advances that have occurred in enteral nutrition since the first edition of 2010.

Purpose
The purpose is to improve the safety and quality of care for those requiring enteral nutrition. The book implements current research and technology that improve nutrition support, advancing health by improving ordering, administration, and safety. This is a concise reference on the latest research and recommended guidelines to advance safety and efficacy of enteral nutrition.

Assessment
This is a valuable multidisciplinary reference source for enteral nutrition. As research and technology advance, providing updated best practice and evidence-based information is important, making this second edition necessary. The American Society for Parenteral Enteral Nutrition is the leader in advancing the science and practice of nutrition. A limited number of other titles are available, such as *Dietitian's Handbook of Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition*, 3rd edition, Skipper (Jones & Bartlett, 2012), but it is written for dietitians, not a multidisciplinary team, and it is not as current as this book. Other titles in this field are from enteral formula companies on their specific products.
